It's actually a trend now among countries to try to move their capitals to other areas with a lot of countries having done it or trying to do it. However, very rarely is it a success. Tanzania with Dodoma, Nigeria with Abuja, Ivory Coast with Yamassoukro, Myanmar with Naypyidaw, or Malaysia moving part of its administration to Putrajaya. Countries like Egypt and Indonesia are moving ahead with plans to build new capitals as well.
