PS: Of course, there are caveats here. One is linked to black swan events. For example, if some sort of a violent insurrection wreaks havoc on the institutions in the US, or the political divisions get so great that the system becomes immobile. However, this will also impact the rest of the world. Lots of feedback loops and potential of vicious circles spreading around the world. However, I work with Bayesian reasoning, giving probabilities to potentialities. In the current conditions, given no unpredictable event happens, the US dollar will remain the world’s dominant reserve currency.

Anyways, this was written as a response to the article on some new BRICS super-currency dominating and replacing the US dollar as the world's reserve currency.
