The Bulgarization of names whether of Roma or Turks in Bulgaria was a Bulgarian specificity. In other Communist countries that didn't happen, and in fact Roma culture was promoted. This was actually a case of when the Bulgarian leaders tried to play the nationalist song, and doesn't have to do much with Communism. Communist leaders didn't always do things that were Communist.
