Well, tipping points for humans and all the rest of the wildlife. There is a high possibility of a huge die off and the extinction of many species.

And yes, the planet will adjust. New species will arise and become dominant. However, for some reason I find a certain beauty and value in the current set-up and species that we have. And feel the need to protect them.
