Yeah, 2018 to early 2019 Medium was the best since you could still find some good pieces on different subjects. That's why I started reading stuff here and that's why I started writing too. However, the overall quality of the pieces declined rapidly from there, as Medium became more of a content mill, with articles mostly preying on people's emotions. The amount of articles you could learn from seriously declined. :)

I would love to focus on writing more articles in the style of Zat Rana, however unfortunately the impact they will have in today’s Medium are very small. No one will read them. Although, one part of me writing is for my own benefit (as a learning experience), so I sometimes do produce these. However, most of my articles take tons of time to research, and today’s Medium doesn’t really give incentives for that.

Glad you are still sticking to Medium, Alvin! Would hate to see a "I am leaving Medium" article from you, even if those are quite lucrative. :)
