Yes, sometimes it feels like Medium is a big Ponzi scheme, where writers who have gotten lucky and gotten some viral articles try to focus on writing about making money on Medium, to get money from all the small time beginner writers who are also dreaming about hitting it big. Then some of those who do get a lucky viral hit, then immediately switch to writing about making money on Medium and courses on making money on Medium.

If Medium wants to survive as a platform which has a variety of good content, then it needs to start focusing on the readers. Not just writers who are also readers, but readers who only come here to read.
